Somatic Therapy
Anchored in Regulation.
A Rediscovery Into the Core of Who You Are...

When the Body Stops Feeling Like Home
There are times in life when the body no longer feels like a place of ease.
Perhaps you've become very good at taking care of everyone around you, while quietly losing connection with yourself.
Perhaps you're successful, capable, and deeply caring, but your nervous system rarely feels at rest.
Or perhaps you've spent so long living from the neck up that the body has become unfamiliar territory.
This isn't failure.
It's often an intelligent adaptation. The body learns what it needs to survive.
Somatic therapy offers a gentle way of rebuilding relationship with ourselves — not by forcing change, but by learning to listen again.
Meeting What's Here
Healing doesn't begin by changing what we find.
It begins by meeting it.
With curiosity. With patience.
With enough safety that the next step no longer needs to be forced.
From there, something remarkable often happens.
The body begins to reorganize itself in ways we could never have thought our way into.
What is Somatic Therapy?
Somatic therapy is a trauma-informed, body-based approach that recognizes the inseparable relationship between the body, mind, emotions, and nervous system.
While traditional talk therapies often begin with thoughts, somatic therapy begins with lived experience.
Together we explore sensation, posture, breath, movement, and awareness to gently support greater nervous system regulation and embodied resilience.
This isn't about learning another technique. It's about developing a different relationship with yourself.
Is this work for you?
You might recognize yourself here if...
-
You feel disconnected from your body.
-
You are constantly "on" and find it difficult to rest.
-
You identify as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).
-
You care deeply for others while struggling to care for yourself.
-
Stress seems to live in your shoulders, jaw, stomach, or chest.
-
You often understand your emotions intellectually but find them difficult to feel safely.
-
You are curious about embodiment but don't know where to begin.
What a Session May Include
Every session unfolds differently.
Depending on your needs, we may explore:
-
nervous system tracking
-
grounding and resourcing
-
interoception
-
pendulation
-
posture and movement
-
breath awareness
-
body-based exploration
-
compassionate inquiry
There is no pressure to perform here. There is no expectation that you "get it right."
We work slowly.
At the pace your nervous system experiences as safe.
Why This Matters to Me
I grew up as a Highly Sensitive Person long before I had language for it.
Feeling deeply was simply how I experienced the world. My body noticed things before my mind could make sense of them, and I assumed everyone experienced life this way.
Only later did I begin to realize that my relationship with my body, and with the people around me was different from many of those I met.
Learning to distinguish between what I was genuinely experiencing, what belonged to my own projections, and what arose through my body became one of the foundations of my own healing, and continues to shape the way I practise today.
Remembering
Healing isn't about becoming someone different.
It's about rediscovering a relationship that may have been interrupted by stress, trauma, over-functioning, or the simple demands of life.
There is wisdom within your body.
Sometimes we simply need a safe place to hear it again.
If this way of working resonates with you, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
